मनोबुद्ध्यहङ्कार चित्तानि नाहंन च श्रोत्रजिह्वे न च घ्राणनेत्रे ।न च व्योम भूमिर्न तेजो न वायुःचिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहम् शिवोऽहम् ॥१॥
mano buddhi ahankara chittani naahamna
cha shrotravjihve na cha ghraana netrena
cha vyoma bhumir na tejo na vaayuhu
chidananda rupah shivo'ham shivo'ham
I am not any aspect of the mind like the intellect, the intelligence, the ego, or the memory, I am not the organs of hearing, (ears) tasting, (tongue) smelling (nose) or seeing, (eyes) I am not the space, (sky) nor the earth, nor fire, nor air, I am the consciousness and bliss, I am Shiva (that which is not)...I am the ever pure blissful consciousness.
न च प्राणसंज्ञो न वै पञ्चवायुःन वा सप्तधातुः न वा पञ्चकोशः ।न वाक्पाणिपादं न चोपस्थपायुचिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहम् शिवोऽहम् ॥२॥
na cha prana sangyo na vai pancha vayuhuna
va sapta dhatur na va pancha koshahna
vak pani-padam na chopastha payu
chidananda rupah shivo'ham shivo'ham
I am not the Vital Life giving Breath Energy (Prana), nor the Five Vital Airs (manifestations of Prana), I am not the seven essential ingredients nor the five sheaths of the body, I am not any of the outpourings or the body parts, like speech (mouth), touch (hands), movement (feet), or excretion (bowel, bladder etc). I am the consciousness and bliss, I am Shiva (that which is not)...I am the ever pure blissful consciousness.
न मे द्वेषरागौ न मे लोभमोहौमदो नैव मे नैव मात्सर्यभावः ।न धर्मो न चार्थो न कामो न मोक्षःचिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहम् शिवोऽहम् ॥३॥
na me dvesha ragau na me lobha mohauna
me vai mado naiva matsarya bhavahana
dharmo na chartho na kamo na mokshaha
chidananda rupah shivo'ham shivo'ham
There is no hatred nor passion, attachment, infatuation, no greed nor delusion,There is no pride, nor jealousy or envy,I am not identified with duty (Dharma), wealth (Artha), lust, desire (Kama), or liberation (Moksha) (the four Purusarthas of manifest life), I am the consciousness and bliss, I am Shiva (that which is not)...I am the ever pure blissful consciousness.
न पुण्यं न पापं न सौख्यं न दुःखंन मन्त्रो न तीर्थं न वेदा न यज्ञाः ।अहं भोजनं नैव भोज्यं न भोक्ताचिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहम् शिवोऽहम् ॥४॥
na punyam na papam na saukhyam na duhkhamna
mantro na tirtham na veda na yajnaha
ham bhojanam naiva bhojyam na bhokta
chidananda rupah shivo'ham shivo'ham
I am not virtue (merits) nor vice (sin), not pleasure (worldly joy) or pain (sorrows)I need no mantras, sacred hymns, no pilgrimage, sacred places, no scriptures or rituals (sacrifices),I am not the experience, enjoyment, not the object of experience, not even the one who experiences (enjoyer), I am the consciousness and bliss, I am Shiva (that which is not)...I am the ever pure blissful consciousness.
न मृत्युर्न शङ्का न मे जातिभेदःपिता नैव मे नैव माता न जन्मः ।न बन्धुर्न मित्रं गुरुर्नैव शिष्यंचिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहम् शिवोऽहम् ॥५॥
na me mrtyu shanka na mejati bhedaha
pita naiva me naiva mataa na janmahana
bandhur na mitram gurur naiva shishyaha
chidananda rupah shivo'ham shivo'ham
I am not bound by death or fear, not by caste or creed or distinction,I have no father, nor mother, or even been birthed, I am not a relative, nor a friend, nor a teacher (spiritual master) nor a student (disciple), I am the consciousness and bliss, I am Shiva (that which is not)...I am the ever pure blissful consciousness.
अहं निर्विकल्पो निराकाररूपोविभुत्वाच्च सर्वत्र सर्वेन्द्रियाणाम् ।न चासङ्गतं नैव मुक्तिर्न मेयःचिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहम् शिवोऽहम् ॥६॥
aham nirvikalpo nirakara rupovibhut vatcha
sarvatra sarvendriyanamna cha sangatham
naiva muktir na meyaha
chidananda rupah shivo'ham shivo'ham
I am without duality (variation), and without form (formlessness),I am present in the all (omnipresent), I exist everywhere, the underlying substratum of everything manifest and not, pervading all senses and sense organs,I am neither attached, nor get freed from anything, nor am limited in any way, I am the consciousness and bliss, I am Shiva (that which is not)...I am the ever pure blissful consciousness
